MUSIC THEORIES UNIT 1 - SOUND & SILENCE

MUSIC THEORIES UNIT 1
-
Sound is the energy that is produced in the eardrum when the ear recives sound waves.
Sound is the kind of sensation that we hear.
Sound travels trough air, liquids or solids. In fact, sound travels faster trough liquids and even                faster trough solid materials.
The brain picks up the sound waves.
The vibrations of the eardrum are turned into nerve impulses. The information is transmitted to            the brain.

Pitch means the highness or lowness of the sound.          Silence is as important as sound in music.
Timbre means the kind of sound. It is different from one instrument or voice to another.
