MUSIC THEORIES UNIT 1

Sound
is the energy that is produced in the eardrum when the ear recives sound waves.
Sound
is the kind of sensation that we hear.
Sound
travels trough air, liquids or solids. In fact, sound travels faster trough
liquids and even faster trough solid materials.
The
brain picks up the sound waves.
The
vibrations of the eardrum are turned into nerve impulses. The information is
transmitted to the brain.
Pitch
means the highness or lowness of the sound. Silence
is as important as sound in music.
Timbre
means the kind of sound. It is different from one instrument or voice to
another.
Duration
means the lenght of each sound.
Intensity
means the loudless or softness of the sound.
